LONDON, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the Beatles are just three things people identify as British's greatest features, a survey released Monday has revealed.

People were asked to name their favorite sights, British characteristics and British exports to help discover the country's greatest features.

Queuing in the rain Blake Swihart Jersey , outdoor barbecues and the British weather all made the list. But firm favorites dominated the lists in a nationwide poll by the Britain's largest self-catering cottage holiday company, cottages.

The research also revealed that, as a nation, Britain pride itself on an eclectic mix of habits. Nearly half (47 percent) felt that talking about the weather was a real indication of being British, followed by an affection for queuing (33 percent), Britain's unique sense of humour (29 percent) and barbecuing in the rain (13 percent).

The English language was cited as the thing British people were most proud of giving the world (23 percent), topping the list of exports which also included Shakespeare, penicillin, the Royal Family, football and the full English breakfast.

BALATONFURED, Hungary, July 15 (Xinhua) -- French swimmer Marc-Antoine Olivier won the men's 5km open water event with a time of 54 minutes 31.40 seconds at the 17th FINA World Championships on Saturday in Balatonfured, western Hungary.

Olivier beat Mario Sanzullo of Italy who snared silver medal in 54 minutes 32.10 seconds. British swimmer Timothy Shuttleworth took bronze with 54 minutes 42.10 seconds.

Olivier specializes in long-distance open water events. At the 2015 World Aquatics Championships he finished 6th in the 10km open water. He won the bronze medal in the 10km open water marathon at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Kirill Abrosimov of Russia was fourth. Fernando Ponte of Brazil David Ortiz Jersey , Andrea Manzi of Italy, Kristof Rasovszky of Hungary and Logan Fontaine placed fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth respectively.

Defending champion Chad Ho of South African placed only eleventh with 54 munutes 48.60 seconds.

Two Chinese swimmers attended the event. Zhang Zibin placed 44th, while Liu Shuyi placed 52nd. Hong Kong swimmer Chin Ting Keith Sin placed 51st.

The 17th FINA World Championships run from July 14 to 30, with the open water discipline staged in Balatonfured 130km southwest to Budapest.
